About Hippo House
Hippo House is the online shelf of Pygmy Hippo Shoppe on North Stanley Avenue in Los Angeles.
Sold in pairs, because that is the point. Almost everything here is a two-pack or a two-player set. It is a narrow shelf on purpose.
A deliberately narrow catalogue
There are 22 products here and nearly all of them come in twos. Mugs, aprons, engraved cutlery, tumblers, card games, keepsakes. We could double the range by adding single items and we would rather not: the whole use of this shop is that you do not have to work out which things pair.
What “quality” means on a listing
Something checkable. Stoneware rather than “premium ceramic”. Stainless steel with the engraving depth described. Card counts on the decks — 150 cards means 150 cards. Adjectives without a number behind them get cut when we write a listing.
Occasions we stock for
Anniversaries, weddings, engagements and the ordinary weeks in between. There is no sale calendar built around any of them and no countdown clocks on this site.
